Softbank became a shareholder of education group Afya, boosting the shares of the Brazilian company, which rose 11% at Nasdaq. With the new partner, Afya discards for now plans for a secondary offering and is already thinking about an international expansion. Through the Latin America Fund, Softbank will make an investment of R$822 million in the company. With the transaction, Softbank has an 8.4% stake in Afya and a seat on the board of directors.
